Cherrypal has launched a new netbook that can be added to the early netbooks that would arrive this 2009. The new Netbook by Cherrypal is called the Bing netbook.
The Bing netbook is just like any other netbooks. Running under Atom N270 with the specifications of:
- 1.6GHz operation, 1 GB DDRII memory, 160 GB HDD
- 3 USB 2.0; 1 earphone
- SD/MMC/MS card socket
- Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g) built-in
- Built-in microphone and dual speakers
- 10.2” TFT display with 1024 x 600 resolution, wide-screen
- 1.3M Pixel web camera, weight 3 lbs, 5 hours battery
The Cherry pal Bing netbook runs under Linux OS but with an optional Windows XP OS.
Its price tag is around $399 or around 20000 PHP here in the country. Cherrypal is currently having a limited time offer of a free Cherrypal C114 Desktop if you will buy their netbook which is a great thing if you really are looking for a bang for the buck.
The limited time offer duration was not disclosed though by Cherrypal when it would end but it would be really worth the price for $399 you would get a netbook with a free desktop.

I would recommend getting a solid state harddrive. You will have to use software to clone the drive since all the Win XP installation files are contained in a hidden partition on the it (no cd-roms).
On a side note, the user’s manual (which is a pdf on the pc) doesn’t really address what all the function keys are, so you have to guess on some of them based on the little pictures. The wifi on/off key is easy, but some of the others aren’t always obvious.
