Here in the Philippines, Globe Telecommunications is the one who was responsible for the  debut of the Smartphone iPhone 3G.

Now, because of competition, it is given that the iPhone 3G here in the Philippines is locked only to Globe Telecom. Now if you wanted to use the iPhone 3G for other networks, you would need to have it modified outside Globe and it may deem your warranty to be voided once it was modified to be open lined.
