Amidst global crisis, Nintendo Wii is still selling like pancakes, almost getting console shortages this Holiday season.

According to Times Online:

“November sales of Wii, the games console produced by Nintendo, more than doubled in the United States from the same period last year to a record-breaking two million units.”

Whoa, that means that not even the Global Financial Crisis cannot stop the shortage of consoles because of the holiday season. Well, that reallly is something we should expect since its next-gen console competitors Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft X-box 360 has a heavier price tag than the Nintendo Wii.

But here in the Philippines, these hotcake priced Wii would not be applied at all since most gamers here in our country still haven’t got a hand on those interactive next-gen consoles.

Plus with an economic crisis at hand, Filipinos are evolving into smart individuals nowadays, they mostly resort to gifts which are products of labor and love, rather than buy pricey consoles that aren’t a hit in the country.

I would love to have Wii but I still prefer Sony PS3.
