Toshiba released a new smartphone TG01 that can be deemed to go head to head against Apple’s iPhone 3G.

The Toshiba TGo1 is the newest smartphone that Toshiba made and its full features would be unveiled at the MWC at Barcelona this February 2009.

Finally a smartphone that can compete against the iPhone 3g. It is much more thinner than iPhone which has 12.3 mm thickness compared to Toshiba TG01 which has 9.9 mm thickness.

The Toshiba TG01 Specifications are as follows:

4.1 inch WVGA (800x480px) Touchscreen
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
Custom 3D user interface
GPS Receiver
WiFi Accessibility
HSDPA
MIcro SD Slot
Motion Sensor

The question now is, does its battery surpasses iPhone’s? Since iPhone has had its share of problems of battery capacity. Another add on that should have had that I think should be there was the Bluetooth functionality.

iPhone has its own bluetooth functionality but is only limited to other iPhone units. Maybe there are still other features that Toshiba is yet to unveil on Mobile World Congress 2009 at Barcelona Spain this month.
